In 2009, Katie first stepped into her parents’ therapy practice and fell in love with the art (and puzzle) of insurance billing and bookkeeping.  Back then, everything was done on paper—so she learned the business from the inside out, building the kind of expertise only hands on experience can create.

Fast forward to 2018: Katie turned that rare passion and combination of analytics and action into a profession by launching In Your Corner Insurance Billing. What started as a small billing and bookkeeping business quickly became a trusted partner for therapists who wanted to spend less time chasing payments and more time caring for clients.

While bookkeeping eventually took a back seat, those skills still shine every time Katie audits a client’s therapy business to make sure the mechanics of their money is working as efficiently as possible.

As her family’s therapy practice continued to blossom, Katie purchased it in 2022.Today, she runs it as a thriving clinic, balancing both sides of the wellness world as an business owner and a billing specialist. This dual experience gives Katie a rare advantage: she knows firsthand how therapy practices run, what challenges therapists face, and how smooth billing can transform daily operations.

Today, In Your Corner help therapists streamline billing, audit their accounts and make sure every dollar earned is a dollar received. Along the way, Katie’s experience as both a practice owner and biller inspired the company’s consulting services--helping clinicians navigate the exciting, sometimes chaotic, leap into private practice ownership. With a mix of wisdom, wit, and an encouraging nudge, Katie and her team continue to help new therapists open their practices or confidently transition from group work to private practice.
